An unprecedentedly accurate atomic clock has been created

Time accuracy is critical for ships: as they use global positioning systems, even a small time error while tracking the propagation of satellite signals leads to incorrect positioning of the ship. The deviation in this case can be hundreds of metres.

According to the researchers, the latest atomic clock will finally overcome this problem.
